KC is full of wildlife all around the metro. I hope this hawk wasn't hit by a car and is injured. Next time you come across something like this, please call Lakeside Nature Center in Swope Park. They can take in, treat, and release Missouri's wildlife, like this hawk.

A lot of large cities are using Hawks to reduce the pigeon population. They also love mice and rats.

Sometimes they'll eat critters that have ingested poison, which may eventually increase to levels that ultimately kill them. Since the poison often affects brains, seeing them behave in a manner they typically don't behave can be a symptom of poisoning, OR a head injury. Call Animal Protection immediately to allow its vets to determine the nature of its injury, its medical needs to give it relief and treat, or to humanely euthanize it to cease its suffering, if its beyond rescue, treatment and rehab.O R , its sitting pretty waiting for prey to wander by to snatch and kill for a quick warm meal.
