rather then talk in a disappointed voice and scolding the dog, learn how to get the dog to open his mouth. Reach your hand over the dogs snout toward the back of his mouth. Squeeze the dogs lips against his teeth. Squeeze hard. He will open his mouth to relieve the pressure.I use this technique when I'm training a bird dog to release the retrieved bird. it doesn't take long at all to teach this command.
