Was onboard USS Providence a big Guided Missile Cruiser in a typhoon 1969 trying to help a big freighter that called May-Day and took over a 40 degree roll with waves 50-60 feet and winds at 85-100 mph. Mother Nature can be a wild lady and the next day be nice and sweet with sea’s that look like a lake. Yes we saved the ship from going down by getting some pumps and crew on board with the helo. Amazing to watch watch like riding a bull in a rodeo. We were like a cork in a big bathtub. ⚓️🇺🇸⚓️

I was in the Navy for a very long time and I know this isn't common the wave didn't destroy this out the wave came over the death and then the wave left and the ship was fine it is very common with ships in the ocean
