One wheeling bike ride…with shoes

I’ve heard of a Unicycle before but never have I seen a person riding a regular bicycle with only one wheel. I wonder if that would be equivalent to riding a Unicycle or harder riding this way?

The kid next door to me used to do this to keep his bike from being stolen and to build his upper body and legs. If you can do it, it's great exercise.
