They weren’t peacefully hanging out… they were actively fortifying their cities and booby trapping the villages… Any pow’s or even Americans civilians were being forced to man fake outposts in Japanese uniforms so they would die at the hands of their comrades. We actually killed more Japanese civilians only because they were being forced to the military bases and front lines cause we wiped out a ton of their remaining military with fire bombing. Lastly they were reading/re-telling their own exploits from ‘The Rape of Nanking’ to their own kids. Teaching them how to kill us with homemade explosives, seppuku, etc...

I understand the message but Japan started the fight, we just finished it. Honestly we weren't even involved in WW2 in the beginning. WW2 started on September 1st, 1939. America wasn't involved until December 8th, 1941 when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and we knew the were allied with Germany. That's why Admiral Yamamoto (strategist of the attack) stated, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve"
