Usually it’s someone who hasn’t received your rating or was the person not going to get checked out or discouraged others. Compensation exams and the subsequent reviews arent simple. Heck, I’m having a time trying to get them to fix my records to include my daughter because she turned 18 before graduating high school. As simple as that sounds, there is still a process and they do a rigorous review, even on a gunny such as a child born in February and graduation not till June.
As a veteran who is 100% total and permanent with multiple add-ons of what’s called special monthly compensation, this is so true. I was deployed damn near died before I went wheels up and was only injured further during that deployment. I fought for so long after I lost my career, with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Took years to get over it finally in a good place.
No matter which branch of military our young have chosen, people in general in the civilian world need to realize you don't know what our guys & gals have see, been exposed to or heard during their tours of duty. Civilians tend to forget their freedoms exist because them, they too suffer financial hardships, miss being home with families for holidays. They are told when to get up & when to sleep, their at home spouses struggle and deserve respect.
sorry that this is happening to you. Veterans and the things we go through often are overlooked because there is no one "party" to blame or attack for it. Just the big mess at the top of it all. So the masses just don't seem to care. Try and keep positive! They DO and have helped a lot of us non-deployed veterans, and even many veterans who were deployed have the same issues, unfortunately.
