we went through this in 1966, brother in law killed in Vietnam, I was in Philippines at USNAS Cubi Point. Navy sent me home, I didn't want to come, argued with Navy Chaplin to no avail. very hard to go through this, knew it was going to kill my sister,which it eventually did. salute to my brother in law, Sargent Arvin Pennel, 27th wolfhounds.... you still missed... along with her😥😥

I don't think that after waiting 8 long days for to Marines to ship my 24-year-old daughter's body home with her flag-draped coffin coming out of the belly of that plane certainly wasn't fake nor a dream, It's life-changing pain that half your heart is gone and nothing will ever replace it. We learn to keep on marching to cope and live with it. Because there is no closure.

I got my daddy's flag when I was 25 I was in the Navy the four men and one woman that was there folded my daddy's flag they played taps and hitting me my father's flag I blocked out what she said to me I'm 51 now it's been 26 years since my daddy's been gone
I have three of those GD flags in my home . A whole lot more families are fixing to know exactly what that feels like .

I still have my flag from when my dad passed away. He was an extremely proud U.S. MARINE. To this day, I'm still an extremely proud veteran who has served with the U.S. NAVY.
