BS, I've ordered thousands of items through the DOD supply system. There are safeguards in place to keep this from happening.

When I was on active duty any amount requested through the Supply System over a certain dollar amount has to have the okay by the Department Head and the Senior Supply Officer aboard.

It all goes back to the person that s signed the order. Whether a carrier gets whatever it wants or not,someone can't ask a question? A lot of government money just thrown away.Stupidity at it's finest
Love this and yes this has happened before. I once saw the M1 tank turret delivered to a carrier once. The one I really love though is the one my SKC chief told me. He was a Vietnam veteran and the SK1 stationed on a minesweeper. One of the sweeps in his division of 6 ships was getting ready for deployment. . The ships corpsman was ordering a box of 100 condoms. But, vise putting the correct stock number for 1 box of 100, he ordered the stock number for cases and the quantity of 100. Several days later 3 semi trucks showed up on the dock and dropped it off. When the other sweeps saw what was being delivered, there was a massive number of transfer request from the other sweeps to that sweep.
Someone got their ass handed to them for this one! And I bet they made a new rule behind this too!
