Well--he seemed surprisingly calm about it, must've been on some pretty good meds... Or maybe he already has a Plan B up his sleeve, something worse than mere redistricting would've been. Either way, it's good to have a win. It's *great* to have my faith in fellow citizens of my state validated. Had you all not turned out in such numbers, you know the outcome might've been very different. I would've been there with you, but don't do much traveling these days. And of course it's *spectacular* to see Donnie not get what he wanted. Seeing that self-satisfied smirk wiped off his face once in awhile does wonders for the soul. May it ever be thus. So congratulations on doing right by your people, Senators, and thank you for your bravery amidst all the threats and intimidation... That used to be a conservative value. You can’t spend years preaching “states’ rights” and then rage when a state refuses to rig a congressional map for you. Elections aren’t supposed to be engineered for guaranteed wins. They’re supposed to reflect voters, not protect politicians. If your ideas can’t survive a fair map, the problem isn’t the voters—it’s the message. Even in deep-red Indiana, lawmakers recognized the line between representation and manipulation and chose not to cross it. That’s not disloyalty. That’s restraint. And the fact that this sparks outrage says more about the demand for obedience than it does about principle. Democracy isn’t loyalty to one man. It’s loyalty to process, limits, and the rule of law—especially when you don’t get your way. That distinction matters more than ever!!
