Trump came to Pennsylvania to talk about economics but skipped the one fact that matters here. The Lehigh Valley was gutted by free trade, corporate offshoring, and decades of policy that rewarded companies for abandoning American workers. Tariffs do not reverse that. They only charge us extra while the same corporations keep their profits overseas.
He comes here to talk economics like it is a show, but the real economy in Pennsylvania is rent going up, wages staying flat, groceries doubling, and families scrambling. Tariffs did not fix that. Speeches do not fix that. Policy does.
If his economic plan worked, Pennsylvania would not look the way it does right now. Tariffs did not bring the factories back. They did not lower prices. They did not raise wages. All they did was give the government more revenue while people here got squeezed.
He keeps saying tariffs make America rich. Tariffs do not make Americans rich. They make the government rich while families in Pennsylvania pay more for everything from groceries to tools. If this is the economic plan, then the plan is for us to pay for it.
Trump is not governing. He is running a faction. The Founders warned that factions rise when one leader convinces people that his interests are the country’s interests. That is how you get someone coming to the Lehigh Valley to talk economics while ignoring the cost of living crisis, the tariffs raising prices, the debt, and the instability his own policies create. A faction survives by keeping people angry and distracted. A president solves problems. Trump knows the difference and chooses the one that serves him.

We have been through this before. Free trade hollowed out places like Pennsylvania. Tariffs have not rebuilt anything. They just shifted the bill back onto the same working people who were already abandoned thirty years ago.
Trump is a faction, not a leader. The Founders warned about this exact danger. A faction puts loyalty to one man above the country, and uses chaos as fuel. That is why he comes to Pennsylvania with slogans instead of solutions. A faction grows stronger when everything else gets weaker.
