Easy one HE'S LYING HIS ASS OFF AGAIN. He's been doing everything in his power to keep the files from being released. He knows there's a vote coming up to release the files and 6 Republicans have said they are voting with the Democrats to release the Epstein files and that will give the 60 votes that are needed. He even called all 6 Republicans last week to try to get them to change their vote and all 6 said NO. So he KNOWS DAM WELL that the files are being released with the YES VOTE so he's now simply trying to SAVE FACE BY TELLING THE MEDIA HE'S WANTS REPUBLICANS TO VOTE YES ON RELEASING THE FILES.
Because he had his people doctor them up a little bit more.

Because he wants this to be over with. He wants the files released so that people will realize that it is all a hoax, from the Democrats. People are so absorbed in this, that they don't realize what all he and his administration have done and are doing
Trump hasn’t changed his mind about releasing or investigating the epstein files. He knows by turning to the DOJ that he can effectively control what is released, redacted, destroyed & what little is given to the committee to drag along while deciding what to release. So effectively nothing will be released during his presidency & probably won’t survive for the next election. Just another smoke screen & deflection. What people don’t realize is there are dozens of videos & hundreds of pictures already circulating. You also have the multiple medias of trump himself bragging about grabbing women by their vagina, forcibly kissing them & walking into the dressing rooms of Miss Teen USA unannounced while they were Undressed. He was found liable of Sex Abuse, guilty of 34 Felonies, guilty of Tax fraud, guilty of Loan Fraud & has settled out of court multiple sexual misconduct allegations against him. Trump does not need congressional authority to release the investigative files from the FBI. His change in stance is pure political theater. The investigative files are under the jurisdiction of Trump, Patel, and Bondi and they could act unilaterally to release them if they wanted to. Trump often switches sides in the 11th hour when it appears that his side is losing, so he can be on the winning side.

This is a much bigger societal issue than Trump's narrow self-interests. It involves the interests of the victims and the public, to transparency and closure, no matter who's in the files. It involves the ability to do deeper investigations without obstruction, regardless of Trump's innocence or guilt. It involves our asking as Americans why this kind of abuse by the rich and powerful happens often and is so rarely successfully prosecuted.

When beginning advancements in my career I attended various management courses. This technique was explained in a basic supervisory class as a turn the situation around…helped when a short stint dealing with legislator’s dealing with children’s rights many years ago. Shook many hands and quietly listened to deals and records being discussed. Some of what I think comes from quietly listening from my past.😆
