Never had such a horrible president wanting to slash programs he promised not to interfere with. Both parties are to blame for allowing a system like this to continue where the government runs out of money every year and the minority party blackmails the majority to get new legislation passed. The Democrats are most to blame this time because they won't vote to reopen without additional new concessions. Both parties could vote to automatically fund the government at the end of each calendar year when the money runs out unless a majority votes to close it.

Trump doesn’t have the power of the purse. Congress does. Trump didn’t shut down the government. The Democrats did the Democrats in the sent it. The house signed and passed a claim CR in September. And as multiple Democrats have said, this is their leverage. Chuck Schumer even said every day that the government shut down is good for him. Democrats need to sign the claim CR. President Trump needs to look into ending congressional pay even calling back October’s pay for for the Senate, who are refusing to sign the claim CR they shouldn’t be paid if Americans are paid.

Well if you really keep up with the shut down and I mean dig into votes and calls for votes and then all the yes and nay votes you are going to find the Democrat's are keeping the government shut down and there is zero argument on it because numbers don't lie! the Republicans have the CR on the table democrats have voted in favor of it before but since they want to add more into it then it is a stand off. the CR is clean and covers a lot but democrats feel illegals need to have benefits and the Republicans just wont accept anything like that. if the Democrat's would vote to open the government back up then work on getting other things it would be better. but democrats are the ones holding everything up because they feel stronger about illegals then legal Americans!
