You have no idea how the Senate works do you,it takes 60 votes to pass a Bill that means at least 7 Democrats have to vote with them.Republicans might be in the Majority,but their not in charge.if it's a 50/50 vote the vice president is the tie breaker.

This is stupid. he should have worded it differently, but he is correct. Due to the filibuster rule, a simple majority vote wasn't what was required. They needed 60 votes out of 100, which required Democrats to vote in alignment with the Republicans. So in this situation, no, they did not control the Senate.
