Most of this problem goes back 40 yrs ago. Reagan destroyed most of our independent agriculture. Everything had to be big and corporate to him. Farmers on up our supply lines. We had animal processing plants all over the state. Most went out of business in the 80s, Family farm feedlots were closed because Reagan gave preference to large corporate feedlots. Monfort was one of them at the time. Not independently owned, huge corporate owned. In the 50s-70s it was taught in schools that the communist way was large corporate everything. The state or corporation owned it all and the people worked for them. State and Corporate had absolute control of everything. Communism way! Where are we 40 yrs after the Reagan presidency. Very few locally owned anything. Huge banks, farms, meat packing plants, grocery stores, shopping in general.
