Oregon and Illinois clash with Trump administration over National Guard deployments

Born on the mid 50's, I can certainly remember the National Guard being deployed tornado devastated areas in order to protect people and destroyed property from looters. In 2021 Democrats deployed the National Guard to Washington DC to protect Congressional members and the capital building while making the troops sleep in a parking garage. Why is now supposedly unconstitutional to deploy National Guard troops to protect American citizens from those who choose to protect criminals and foreigners instead. Do federal law enforcement officers not deserve the type of protection that politicians received?

no not Illinois just the official's the Americans in Illinois want ice and Trump's team to clean it up and prosecute the ones harboring the illegal fugitives and causing conflicts with government officials doing their duties and protecting citizens like the governor and Mayer s are supposed to do.
