Right or wrong the convening of the grand jury in this particular case was a dog and pony show, go down, intended to sway others from assaulting law-enforcement officers. Felony battery requires intent to cause death or serious bodily harm. No one in their right mind would believe that the intent behind throwing a sandwich at a police officer was for the purpose of causing death or serious bodily harm. I have no doubt the prosecutor presenting the evidence to the grand jury knew that they wouldn’t indict and that they would inevitably charge the individual with misdemeanors which can be proven in court.
The Founding fathers did not do the american people any favors with the flawed document, the constitution which allowed the voters the right to vote for the destruction of their own government.

everybody thinks their routine is much too important to be interrupted/ inconvenienced for a seemingly irrelevant civic duty; u wouldn't believe the trivialities people can't imagine re-arranging, the stories they create n embarrassing character flaws they invent under oath, to avoid serving🧐🥺 BUT JURY DUTY IS CRITICAL!! it's the basis of our whole system, the difference that makes us america - n actually does make america great!! it is THE takeaway for me after 25yrs in the courts, a fascinating process that nobody wants to bother with - until they do, n they do then responsibly, with integrity, almost always getting it right n, happy they did! still, if u can't care about the gratifying experience, or the patriotic duty to our most basic founding principles - think about u/someone u love getting somehow caught up in the system... would u want to be there to help insure they get a fair shake? would u hope other good people would do so for u?? then - SHOULDN'T U do the same🤔
