teachers don't care about student growth they want the children in school so they can continue to get the government money it's all about the money it has nothing to do with our kids parents are not sending their children back to public schools because they get a better education in the private sector.
Well it's going to be worse now because of Trump's BS and ICE agents grabbing people!!! This was an easy call...it's very obvious. If it were me, I wouldn't send my kids...they're kinda sitting ducks on pins and needles and have to be really scared. This is NOT the time to try and gather stats about the kids missing school! You cannot base it fairly on anything right now, until things settle down with ICE, detaining hispanics, and all the deportation stuff.
I know people with college degrees that don’t know their spelling and grammar correctly. It truly does not make a difference

The politicians and teachers union have destroyed education in Oregon . Oregon rank’s something like 46 in the nation . And now teachers who require help in their classrooms ( when they never use too) are going to take time out of their classes to knock on doors. It would be unbelievable if it was anywhere but Oregon. Educational freedom now !

You only have yourself to blame. With what they are and are not teaching. I would either home school or work 3 jobs to get them into a private school. The school system is broken and needs to go back to basics.
Our District each school had attendance secretaries. We were able to click on each student and send a mass email to parents. This was immediately followed up by calling each parent at home or work. Main concern was the safety of the students. We would ask what barriers they are facing to get kids to schools and assist where possible, refer to counselors, and in worse cases, we referred parents to truancy court. We gave away free alarm clocks. Had mini bus on call to pick up those who missed the bus. For the truly naughty ones our local police, when free, would knock on the doors. We had very low truancy issues.
Schools want control of our students and teach them beliefs that should not be taught … I would homeschool if I had a child
Well take a look at what’s going on in our public schools…most parents would rather home school or send their kids to a private school…our states own damn fault

I don't know about you all but here in the Springfield. My kid said school is a lot better. This year, the teachers are on it, and yes, we do have a truncy officer, so this must be the Portland area. Where they didn't get the financing from trump, because they refuse to not be woke
some blame teachers, others parents; but in reality, the truth of the matter is that what failed them is their communities. eventually, we have to look at our culture for the blame and how fostering a lack of genuine community is and will continue to drive people away from each other. and that means all sorts of issues pop up, including difficulties upholding education and reduction of truancy. but hey, what do I know? its not like I've lived all over the state or anything.

Maybe actually teach useful stuff, teachers need to step it up, not be bullys, actually care for the students ALL of there students no favorites. Actually use people IEPs. Not just teachers being bullys but stoping students too. Stopping fights ect theres so many issues
I got told by one school that I’d never graduate (I was only a freshman when I was told this) then I went to a different county school and graduated within 2 weeks. Some of these schools only operate for the money.

Oregon keeps lowering the bar. It's done wonders, hasn't it. How about raising the bar back up? Getting back to basics in grade school, making sure kids can read and write and do math. The common core crap didn't help much. The state testing is a joke, especially if teachers are teaching to pass the test.

well i pulled my son to homeschooling after many unexplained bruises my son leaving school grounds he was safer at home my older son because of bulling and nothing is ever done about it. the bullies rule the school and until otherwise my children will never go back
