If you don’t have a problem with this then ask yourself why aren’t there more black statues. Black people have contributed more than the confederate did. There are more inventions that were invented from a black or brown person and thoes people barely get the recognition or a statue but a racist confederate general that stood for slavery and wanted to stay apart from the US gets a statue make that make sense like what did they do to deserve a statue. I’ll wait for someone to come up with something.

I originally was opposed to a lot of these Confederate statues, until I realized it’s actually a good idea to have them up. Because, regardless if we celebrate or despise them, they still are a part of American history that serves as a reminder of how our great Constitution Republic was formed. And, also people equate The Union Army with freeing the slaves, and The Confederate Army with trying to maintain slavery, when in fact things were much more complex.
