Settling is sad. This with us too and THEIR parents, I wish that I did more of because his mom did an about face, once the engagement ring was on my finger and the wedding date set. I likely would've seen some 🚩 red flags prior to our wedding, instead of just the pleasantries. Monster MIL's can make a persons life hell for a very long time. So bad that I seriously did not want to date any guy whose mother was still alive and was relieved when I found out that she passed a few years ago, almost 40 years later. That's a long ass time to have someone out there, in the world, that genuinely does not like you and has no real reason, except "taking her son from her "type stuff. Let the boys figure out their mommy issues, because most have them, to varying extents and when an argument gets ugly and/or they drink too much, they replace us with their moms and take out their issues on us because they see us as being similar enough...just being females. Definitely, dig deeper into their issues

If you are super secure in your relationship, you need to know, his eyes DO wander. It's human nature to compare your mate to others. It doesn't mean anything except to confirm how lucky he is. And if you're being honest with yourself, you can admit that you do the same. Don't hide it! There is no room for insecurity in a committed relationship. Be honest, up front and accepting.
