I stopped years ago using bungee cords, the damn things are dangerous. I only use rope or a strap/ webbed to secure loads.

I was pulling on an extension cord that was stuck, it came lose an came back at me like a snake ,it stuck BOTH PRONGS IN MY EYE, HAD TO CUT THE EXTENSION CORD AN DRIVE MYSELF TO ER WITH CORD HANGING OUT OF MY EYE, GOT LUCKY AN DIDNT LOSE MY EYE...

If you have to apply manual tension to secure anything you better beware in case of failure at the opposite end, bungee cords are useful but you better check and make sure the opposite hook is mostly closing the gap, I take any type of pliers to bent them in,or place them on a hard surface and use a hammer,rock or anything hard to bend them inwards.

Wow that's scary! I just had eye surgery last week. You could feel the shot in the eye even though they tell ya it's "just pressure." Yeah, just pressure... from a needle in the eye.🤦🏼♂️😂 Hope this feller was okay.👍

Ouch! I saw the blood dripping
up your vein after only 20minutes of dripping,then they have to stick a new iv needle.for 3days and nights of never ending agony that burned like a fire all thru your arms chest ..they give you sedation but the pain is so huge ,it doesn't do enough I never knew antibiotics could hurt so bad.but they have you in an isolated venting system wing,with nurses and anyone near you is wearing a hazmat full suit with respirator.4 doctors flew 2 hours from the CDC in Atlanta to look at me.fever dissipated after a couple days.throat hurts terribly from being intibated ,then I told them to take it out or I was gonna do it my self ...they wouldn't so I did it myself.this injury comes from rare cases when you take a severe head whack.in a violently rebounding action to the forehead and sinuses.it can't be from like a hit by a bat or falling off a roof onto concrete.that won't do it it has to be a rebounding acting.and a bungy fits the bill.especially the giant powerful bungy.just remember ,pepsid

I have a story.a bubgee almost killed me 10yrs ago.i had the biggest and longest size you ever seen.i was using it to connect to a concrete weight that ran through a puppy to help lift a tarp that I had rigged as a shed door..I had it stretched to max,I hooked it to the weigh but it was dark and I had barely hooked the tip of the bubgy hook.as I let go ,2 seconds later it slipped and hit me between the eyes making a cartoon like 3 inch egg pop up as I fell to my knees seeing stars.i felt lucky as it didn't cut through the skin .but 2 days later at 3am,I started having a hard time getting air.i then noticed my stomach looks like I swallowed a basketball.i had wife rush me to e.r.passing out from no oxygen 4 times.they rushed out with gourney and loaded my limp body onto it and I debating me soon as I entered.projectile vomit blasted off the ceiling and onto the doc.turns out I had menegitis from the bungy fracturing my sinus allowing bacteria to enter brain.this triggers ,only in men

I know a guy in the oilfields that lost an eye from bungee cord breaking. I myself still use them but I do not use old ones and I stand to the side of the pull just in case
that's a relatively common injury especially for truckers. I was securing a load as a construction labor when I was 17 and I had one of the big heavy bungee cords snap back into my eye with the metal hook. it almost popped my eye and I had to have surgery at one point to release the pressure & another to eventually remove the lens. it was really painful 24/7 for like 3 months
