these are "doomsday fish" they live really deep in the ocean and are said to only rise to the surface when some terrible events are going to happen like a tsunami. as for the holes not sure about that but looks like it could be some kind of lampre bite.(like a huge leech with teeth)

Those two holes could be from a cookie cutter fish. They have very sharp teeth and latch on to their prey, and remove a circular piece of meat, and leave a round hole in its wake.
Why couldn't I have become a marine biologist or at least, a scuba diver...
