Because it’s Disney. The crystal is alive. It has “feelings” so to speak. To bleed the crystal is to pour in your hate, malice, pain, anguish and fury. It’s not as simple as I get a little angry. You must literally torture the crystal and make it feel unimaginable pain, Smothering it in darkness. This can be caused by an entire host of things but it coincides with the Sith view of the force as a tool to bend to their will (generally). It’s not surprise, it’s intentional. There’s no shock, only deliberation. Their fury will echo through the crystal as it screams out in pain and “bleeds”. This? Is not that. Then again, it’s Disney.
