life expectancy 100 years ago 200 years ago a thousand years ago was not very long so people got married earlier in life and some young girls married older men because they had money and they could support them and yes sometimes they were forced into the marriage. And a lot of times the wives outlived the husbands and had a great life after their husbands were gone because they had the money and could do whatever they wanted. And not everyone who gets married young is forced into it.
