In some cases it can be very difficult. My aunt lost all her identification. Not having anything that linked her to her own name made it almost impossible. Took years to get it all straightened out.
Right now in the state of Kansas my son needs some form of photo ID, his birth certificate, his social security card and something with his address to get an ID
but what if I'm on crack, homeless, don't know where I was born, don't know when I was born, don't know my mom's maiden name, have never had a job, phone, or bank account? then how will I vote?!? politics is very important in the anonymous crack head community

I have my original embossed Birth Certificate with the doctor's signature and my little hand and footie prints. CA DMV wouldn't take it, I had to go to county records and get one signed by some county worker. I was getting the real ID drivers license.
I was born in 1956 and by the time I was 7 I had a social security card 🪪! I believe it was then that the state said that any child 12 or older had to have one ! So my oldest sister had to get one so they got my other sister and I our social security cards at that time ! And that was 1962 ! This guy is wacko because you can’t get your original Birth Certificate you have to pay for a photocopy of it! And that’s all you have to have to get your social security card and those are the only thing you need to get an ID or Drivers License

I think the overarching point is, if you don’t function enough to get an id, there special places right here in earth for you to be taken care of… if you don’t have one a feel you don’t belong in those places, time to take stock of your life 👍🏼
It’s not that hard to get your birth certificate in any state and I was born in the 50s. All you need to know is your mother’s last name and your dad and what state were born really hard to get.

So to be fair, it can be difficult to get an ID for the homeless because you need a mailing address and a certified birth certificate. I have helped many veterans get their ID replaced. They do lose it frequently because of the situation. This doesn’t apply to people who have domiciles. I’m not a left leaning liberal but a reasonable person. I still think people should have ID to vote because they certainly need one to board a plane, get prescriptions and Sudafed etc.

bro, im homeless and all I needed was an address to have my card mailed to me and the funds to renew my ID. when you become homeless, you dont lose access to your ID. you lose access to a mailing address. luckily, the couple at a gas station I frequent was kind enough to allow me to use their address to have my driver's license shipped to. what the fuck was this dude even talking about? people speak out their fucking asses dude and make up the dumbest fucking stories I've ever heard.

it was pretty difficult to get my fiance an ID. had to request a birth certificate and in order to do that someone in your family has to be a witness or whatever but he has no family and me and him aren't yet married. luckily he got a hold of his brother otherwise we'd have to go to court over it. it was a long process.

I’m not political I hate everything about every wing left and right and up and down it’s still the same bird but when I was little I lost everything in a house fire it was a soild year after I turned 18 just for a birth certificate then it was I needed a ID for social security card or a social security card for a ID I still do not have a Social Security card and I’m 23
