This whole narrative of blaming slavery for our lack of success and prosperity is ridiculous and embarrassing. Why are we still talking about the past when we can look to our future. We as a people have every right and privilege in this country as anyone else. It's really sad that our people are still talking about 300 years of oppression. Have any of us been oppressed, our parents? their parents? Nobody I know was ever a slave. No white person I've met has ever owned a slave. Yes, it's a terrible part of history but we can't hate and be mad at people that never personally did anything to any of us! It's so embarrassing to hear people still talking about it like it's still going on. Everyone should just live their best life and be happy WE don't have to deal with any of that.
