I lived under an HOA Nazi rule... It was incredible. When we were able and ready to buy a house we went through 5 Realtor companies and they ALL couldn't find us anything that wasn't under HOA control in our region of the state... Needless to say, we don't live there anymore.

I got a real laugh once many years ago. Had a house built in a subdivision that later turned into one with an HOA. After a year of them putting fines on my door and driving over my mainicured lawn etc etc. They took me to court. Their jaws hit the floor when I provided proof that I was there before they were and never signed their papers. I also had them responsible for removing the sprinkler system they put in my back yard and hooking it up to the septic system. Imagine being in your backyard BBQing and it pops up and sprays everything and everyone with water from the septic tank.
HOA stupidity knows no bounds.....
