I find it ridiculous that our laws and justice system allow squatters to take over people's homes.
They need to protect the owners and stop protecting the criminals. This is stealing, grand theft. They only take the good homes over the old dilapidated homes they leave alone.

What did you think was going to happen, You should have been on top of things as soon as your father passed. This will never happen to our childhood home and it's just as beautiful as this one. This just shows in that family there's no communication with each other. Now they want to cry , while they was bickering amongst each other the squatters was moving in.

This story sounds fishy. The dad passed and 48 hrs later they took over. Family members should have been staying there ASAP. How did these folks know this house was vacant. You make draft a fake lease online.

Everyone needs to follow Florida's lead. If you are a homeowner and squatters move in, all you need to do is bring a copy of your deed, an ID, and a sworn statement that they don't have your permission to be there. The sheriff will evict them on the spot.

It's sadly to be expected in this day and age. If your family experiences a death or quick exit leaving a home empty, take measures as maybe an "enforcer" to live there until Sold or Rented.

in my 56 years I've never seen a culture so entitled and so willing to take someone else's hard earned generational wealth and do so little for themselves in the process. they're going to leave it trashed and that's going to be a whole different set of problems for you. I have a friend that went through the same thing with squatters Grandma rented the place then the kids got rid of Grandma, squatted for 2 and 1/2 months The owner had to go to court get a court order to get him evicted and it cost him a small fortune I don't understand why squatters have more rights than owners of the properties. what happened to the old days of Justice you going there and run their asses out and if that doesn't work you beat their asses out.
