You completely within his rights to not show a receipt. They have someone watch you check out, they have cameras recording you check out, I had one employee expect me to wait while he's chatting with someone to spots in line ahead of me trying to exit the store and I walked by refusing to show a proof of purchase for my property.

I live in Washington, a democratic state. And since drugs are allowed to be used out in the open. And we voted on taking funding from our police departments. Walmart privately hires Spokane police to work their stores. That's why they are always either standing inside Walmart or in their cars out front. But our government won't allow them to arrest any one of the 100s of people doing fentanyl, living, and defecating on the sidewalks downtown.
