it truly amazes me how often and to what level that people love to act offended as hell when they did exactly what they are being accused of.
As a pass Assistant Manager for Dollar General, my worst shoplifters were 🤚🏻 men and women. They become so "insulted" that I a 🤚🏾 woman caught them stealing. 😒🙄 Yet they know that they are stealing, like wtf.?
PROCEDURE..... if stores don't follow procedure they're failing the supervise. he's doing it by the book, except I would wait until they get to the door, because they can always take it out the bag and put it back. It's iffy...... if you accuse them of stealing and they weren't you get sued, if they were stealing then you don't stop them at the door the company takes the loss. Your job as an employee or security is to watch..... If they're hand touches that door you can detain them but not prior to them getting up that door. That's why greeter's are checking for a receipts, that should be almost foolproof unless the greeter is helping friends and family. NOBODY should be offended just carry your receipt in your hand as you're walking out the door. That's the way I always did it and if they know you're watching them they normally will put it back, they won't touch that door. The door is the arrest, not self checkout, not walking around the store. THE DOOR MAKES IT THEFT."
