I did it in 10° weather, while walking them to the car. Also, newborns should be covered in cold temperatures and once you get to the heated car, take it off, so you don't construct breathing. You should always be able to see their face in heat and in the car 🌸👍
Great PSA sadly some people don't even consider the build up of heat like that in the sun, which is crazy bc it's pretty common sense.. Even in the winter it's not good to cover the whole thing for any long amount of time. I always used those clear vented covers in the winter, and for the summer I'd just adjust the canopy back n forth to make sure the sun wasn't directly on them, but left it open, or used a net - the clear vented covers in the winter give them protection from harsh winds, but enough fresh air and the ability to see thru them. During the summer the mosquito nets things were great bc the mesh actually did provide some sun protection, while still being open and safe from bugs and providing a lil bit of a sun/wind break. I always took a spray bottle with fresh water with us too, so that if anyone gets sweaty we could mist a bit and cool off, and you can freeze facecloths in bag to drop in the lunchbox so that you have a cool fresh rag for wipe downs.

put something over to block sun, but leave where the sun doesn't hit the baby exposed. shade + airflow. they make sun umbrellas that can be easily attached to strollers for exactly that

yea, it can get really hot under a blanket. but the shade thing helps. you can use gauze over stuff like that but I would still keep a thermometer around to assure it doesn't get too hot.
