I was a single parent and all I had to do is look at him a certain way and stopped immediately. Didn't have bust his butt just give him the Evil eye.

it's the voice mothers natural voice is soothing. Men have a deeper more affirmative voice not that woman dont have authority but men naturally have a deeper voice

Sometimes a deeper voice compared to the gentle inside voice can make things workout a lot faster and easier. Then again all it may/might take is that stern look on the face of the parent issuing out the discpline

Yeah, I can relate. My dad had a strong tone to his voice, and it used to scare the shit outta of me. 😱 My Mom was there too, but when my Dad spoke, you listened. When I did something wrong, I would be like, "Mom, please don't tell Dad." I already knew what was coming. Smdh.

*snaps fingers* "lay down & be quiet" is what my grandfather did to my dad, & what my dad did to me & what I now use on my godsons. Hearing a firm snap sounds like a bomb going off to kiddos. Very effective 👌

"gentle parenting" doesn't mean no yelling. Especially from dad. I learned a long time ago that the "dad voice" was very effective at motivating Schnauzers and teenaged males. It's snicker under your breath funny, when a pre-schooler is doing something they know darn well they are not supposed to be doing, you blast them with the "dad voice", and they jump in 5 directions at once, like a cartoon cat. They will cry because you almost killed them, but they won't do it again. The little girl in the fridge was an example.
