In TN, it's been this way my whole life. Once on I-75 a procession for an officer came through and the entire interstate on both sides came to a standstill. It was beautiful.

down south you get a ticket

My sister lived in NC when she passed away in 1995. I'd never seen this until the day of her funeral. It made my heart swell with pride for the sister I'd no longer see. Now I'm crying again just thinking about it 🕊

Southern People Show Respect for the Deceased and there Families...🙏

That is tradition…..😇

In Ks and Okla Panhandle it has always been like this...RESPECT....🙏🙏🙏

I have seen it my whole life it’s respect

In WV we all know to pull over to show respect!

I don't think I've lived anywhere that doesn't show respect for a funeral procession by pulling over to let them go ahead to their destination.

people from the south consider this respect for the deased.

We pull over take off hats, WE SHOW RESPECT DOWN SOUTH FOR EVERYONE THAT HAS PAST,

Only in the south have i seen this respect.

It’s for respect for the dead and the family 🫶🏼

Southern hospitality, respect the dead taught to us for generations

that's what us older people do pay respect to everyone God Bless

It's called ((( RESPECT)))

South only respect for the family

it's this long forgotten action called respect... some of yall need to look that word up

we have police escorts

Yes I pull aside for funerals and emergency vehicles. 🙏🏼

we do this in NC its shows respect for life

Here in Texas we do that it’s for the respect for the family

WV always pull over

we also do in Missouri

South❤️

Ga we pull over for sure

Georgia we do the same we cover the grave for the last respectful good-bye

I pull over. 👍🙏 Alabama💕

the way it is supposed to be

I seen it growing up but don’t see it anymore. Wish I did.

Tennessee we do

we do that in arkansas 🙏 because we have respect 🙏

We pulled over for funerals in upstate SC

respect is dying out. I remember my step dad's funeral. so many people just drove by and even tried to cut in the line it's sad. I was raised to pull over, take off your hat and say a prayer.

San Antonio,TX. been doing it💕💕 respect for the loss and family....

Respect! My parents and Uncles would stop, get out, and the men would take their hats out and Bow.

they will in Louisiana

it's always been this way in Georgia

unwritten rule in iowa

same in Oklahoma

I'm in MS, no traffic ahead of me had pulled over, when I did...every car behind me pulled over.

I'm in Pennsylvania, and I always pull over, although sadly most people don't anymore.

Growing up no matter town or state you lived in, traffic stopped for funerals. Some try now to move over to stop but with so much traffic now it’s almost impossible. I wish there were enough respect now to make people want to pull over. That will be each of us one day.

Old school respect

🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰America

good people in Bracken County Kentucky

used to do it all the time in Ohio.

In kentucky that's called respect

in Iowa, its optional. on the same side-pull over or stay out of the way, opposite direction-dont have to pull over(though most people with do the sign of the cross or bow their head to some degree, I personally do the sign of the cross and bow though im not religious)

Always in the south.

as far south as Florida.

It's a well known Southern courtesy. Those of us born and raised in Texas do this as well.

I was raised in Okla and people use to pull over for funerals NOT so much anymore 🤔

Down here in the south Honey we ALL pull over to show our RESPECT. I understand that it's a completely FOREIGN ASPECT to some people, but here it matters.

I never seen a hole dug for grave until I moved her either. People around here know exactly how many wheelbarrow fulls go back in a dug grave after the funeral. Minus the size rocks thrown in. Because families and friends are the ones that are digging the holes. Its out of love and respect for the one who passed #CaughtOnCamera#ThePawfectMoment
