Yes, USAID was established by an Act of Congress and President Kennedy's executive order but how many times has the GOP controlled Congress or even one of the chambers and NOT proposed defending or asking for additional oversight. And as usual, MAGA looks for and finds a needle in a haystack. This is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government. This funding is used to address global challenges like poverty, disaster relief, and democratic reforms in partner countries. There is over $65 billion dollars in funding. This represents 0.0031% of the annual budget. The real questions that should be asked is whether millions of children need to die in poverty because of a perceived error of less than 0.01% of its budget is disagreeable to you.
