I don’t care if Puerto Rico is a territory. It doesn’t represent America. It’s bad enough most everything in this country has to be translated in Spanish for all those free loaders that won’t learn English. What about all the other languages people speak in this country. No one caters or baby sits them with their languages printed on everything. No one printed my ancestors languages in German on everything when they came to America. Most of America is tired of babysitting these Spanish only losers. Go home if you can’t assimilate to our country. If you love Puerto Rico so much go live there. Leave us alone.

Puertorican are American when they need welfare, I am a legal immigrant, I speak my language at home, if he considers is self American, English is our language, not jiberish that is not even Spanish, and he was singing in is dialect not even Spanish speaking people did know what he was saying, and I did live 1 year in Spain, Madrid and he was not speaking Spanish

It is a Caribbean archipelago consisting of one main island and several smaller ones like Culebra and Vieques. While it is part of the U.S., it is not a state, which creates a unique and often complex political status: oh yeah, and by the way, did you know Puerto Rico‘s also a dump that 90% of the people that live there don’t speak any English, which is pathetic and embarrassing to the United States.

They are a territory. That way they don't have to pay Federal income tax on money they make working in Puerto Rico. Though they get alot of the benefits US citizens get.

He is not an American. People from the continent are Americans. People from the Caribbean are Caribbeans. They are “kind” of United States citizens. They have their own constitution and laws. They do not have representation in government. They also are required to have papers stating they are Puerto Rican citizens. Their government is subsidized by the United States with billions in funding. When people enter the United States they are protected by the constitution and laws. That is foreign nationals and citizens. They cannot just move to the United States or work in the USA and would have to be approved by the government. The constitutional citizens of the country are allowed to vote. People from Puerto Rico are not allowed to vote in elections in the USA. So they are “kind” of citizens. Bad Bunny not only liar but he also committed fraud when he lip synced the show. What a disgrace!

Following the 1898 acquisition of Puerto Rico, the U.S. government engaged in intense, often brutal efforts to forcibly assimilate Puerto Ricans by erasing their local culture, language, and economic autonomy. Methods included imposing English-only laws in schools, suppressing the independence movement through violence and surveillance, and exploiting the island as a "profit center" that created widespread poverty. They tried to make slaves of Puerto Ricans by making them work in our own sugarcane and agricultural fields and send all that food back to the US mainland. They were exterminated, brutalized, sterilize, and demanded total assimilation by force. We fought back. The main reason why Puerto Ricans were made US citizens was because in World War I and World War II they needed soldiers. And then when we came back, we were never given the same veterans benefits as white Americans.
