semi should have never slowed down. it is our responsibility to safely merge semi or not it is the mergers responsibility.
People need to learn when merging, the on ramp is made to get up to highway speed. Don't try to merge going 30mph. Hit the gas and move your ass. SUV had plenty of time.

Semi should’ve slowed down or move left if possible.
You should be doing the speed limit by the time you hit the on-ramp. If you need to accelerate more to merge, then it's your legal right.
I hate people who want to enter a Interstate doing 50 when traffic is flowing at 70.
I’m a trucker 20 years if they don’t know what an on ramp is for then screw them, I keep driving if they speed up to get on then great if not they will run out of room. Not my problem!!!
The on ramp is called acceleration lane, you get up to speed to blend in with traffic, it is not the responsibility of the trucker to move over or anyone’s responsibility to move over !!!

the funny thing is that the semi is the one in the wrong here. you do not yield to cars merging they yield to you. the only thing you should do is leave room both in front and behind you so that the merging traffic has a place to go.
so if a semi is merging if im in the right lane just like him I dont have to get over or slow down if I did that it would be my fault cause I didn't get over hypocrites
I love when people go rite in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway and sit there doing 50 mph so us big truck must pass on the right and then we have to deal with this shit
This is now different in many states Illinois you have to move over for incoming traffic and if there is cars and emergency vehicles on the shoulder apparently people can't stop running into police and other vehicles on the side of the road
#1 right lane drivers need to.move over to middle lane if possible when car is coming from ramp onto freeway if you can't merge to the left you slow down some..but the driver getting on the freeway is suppose to gain speed
I'm seeing a lot of people talking about how the semi needed to slow down. I work in a warehouse with machines that are about 1/10 the weight of that truck and it takes a few seconds to stop our machines. A semi had a VERY hard time slowing down. That being said, he should have gotten over instead of slowing down. Anyone beside him would have passed him if they were there.
I do know that in California..it's when leaving the highway /interstate it's at the speed limit ..when getting on its by the the time you reach the merge you need to be going the speed limit the flow of traffic.and the vehicle entering yields...when entering / leaving .you by law must be at speed limit or flow of traffic..... vehicles entering yield...

If possible you move over, you have much better view than merging traffic. Of course the merger needs to be aware also

Definitely. The right lane is for on ramp merging and for off ramp access. The lane farthest to the left is for passing. The lanes in between are for normal driving situations. The far left lane should be kept clear of normal traffic to allow smooth passing and for emergency vehicles. The lanes in between should be used for regular driving. The center lanes , if there are more than one, should be used by faster drivers with lane speeds increasing progressively to the left until the passing lane. You should only switch to the farthest right lane to access ramps and when initially entering the highway.
They are some dumb, stupid, blind, weird, and crazy people out here! They don't know how to drive much less look out for others 😞. When I see a freaking 18 wheeler and I'm coming off the ramp, best believe me that , I'm getting the hell on!!!
driving back home one day I was on the road for 9 hours straight and for about 20 minutes there was about seven semi trucks and a good 30 cars behind this one car in the passing lane that was going 45 in a 65. when I finally was able to get past the car I looked over and it was some 20-year-old girl staring into her cell phone not even looking at the road. I absolutely cannot stand being on the road anymore.
semi should just let the driver in. what is wrong with these "professional drivers" they are the cause of almost every single accident on the freeways. they are all like this clown. vengeful and gotta beat some other driver over 3 seconds. willing cause a major accident. I don't even go on freeways any more because of these clowns....and let's not even start on who causes every single accident at rail road xings

There is no need for that semi. To slow down or break... First of all he's way bigger and he has the right of way.And it's up to the car to properly merge onto the highway... He actually gave this vehicle a break, which I would have just kept the pedal to the metal and let them figure it out
