OP has a problem now for not avoiding the accident. If not totally their fault it's at a least contributory action (or, in this case, inaction) with each responsible for their own vehicle damages. Grey car drives away? May be more charges coming their way for leaving the scene.

Seems like only 3 seconds from when the Buick hit the brakes to make a Left turn, takes about a second and a half to move your foot from the gas to the brake pedal. this leaves 1.5 seconds left to bring your car to a full stop but at 35 mph your moving about 30 feet a second plus rain makes pavement more slippery. yeah the Buick was the offender, hope they were able to get the plate as it appears he tried to run away

In North Carolina that woman definitely would have grabbed the charge, the one that hit her in the rear end now the driver probably would have two of the first car but she had enough time to say all that on camera She obviously had enough time to be slowing down but it's like she just wanted to "will" her out of the way with her mind🙏 And again the first driver was wrong for the second driver didn't try to do anything to avoid it and in North Carolina that is also a charge. we're contributory negligence state as well so if you even contribute 5% to the fault of the accident by not slowing down not reducing speed when it's raining like it was in that picture you're going to catch part of the responsibility even if it wasn't your fault but also in North Carolina if you rear-end someone you're almost always at fault
