As a fellow hunter/ outdoorsman…. I would say that he is using his head. He obviously understands the situation he is in. He is slowly backing away … if you run - you’re dead. He is keeping his aim on the (1) one bear …. There is only one. He knows his best and only chance at stopping the bear is a shot at Point Blank …. He doesn’t want to squeeze the trigger unless he has too as a last resort… I commend his calm demeanor and patience.
I would've done the same thing this guy's doing. If I fuck up that first or even second shot from prefixing when the bear hasn't started attacking means I'd have to reload and potentially lose my life

saw the whole video once. The chilling thing is the intelligence of the bear as he tries to get the dude to fire the gun. always at a distance. like he knows that he'll likely miss, or it's been shot before and survived it. like he knows he has to reload, giving him time to close the gap and attack.
Does no one know they live in bear country? you had to know that state or country or local area has bears. bring a handgun. or it might be country where only long rifles are allowed. shotguns.
The same thing happened to me when I lived in the middle of Alaska my weapon was a blessed holy Rosary I didn't even have to pull it out it was in my pocket never ever had a problem with grizzly I walk in peace

He should’ve pulled the trigger as soon as that bear’s head was in front of him. There was a bush that was right to him, and that bear could’ve easily came through that bush without him not noticing it this guy is lucky that that bear wasn’t more aggressive or else he would’ve been killed.

Patience has nothing to do with it. A bears skull is rated upto a 357 mag. A double barrel shotgun which is undoubtedly loaded with bird shot isn't going to stop it. It's just going to piss it off. On top of the fact that once you blast that shit there's zero chance of you reloading it. So patience, nah. Saving your only two shots for when it's on top of you so you can hopefully get out from under it, that's just smart.
