The reason that buck had a dead dear hanging in his antlers was due to the fighting bucks do during the Rut. That buck doesn’t know his horns are removed. The next fight he will have in a matter of hours will most likely be his last. Why would you cut the horns off the live deer if you had the dead one not needing his any more.
