I caught a blue lobster while I was snorkeling in Maui Hawaii back in the late 80's before I ever heard anything about how rare they are . wish I had known. I released it after being amazed. Grateful for the experience. one I will remember for the rest of my life.

The lobsters tail flipper on the right of center had a V-noched female lobster. Once they are V-noched you can't keep them. That's what you do to mark breeding females, she had eggs on her when he caught her so he had to V-noch her and throw her back. I fished for lobsters for years.
