Prick it first with a fork then bake it on 375 for one hour . Take it out and put it in a bowl and smear it with butter or vegetable oil or olive oil and put it back in the oven at 375 for another 15 minutes take it out it should come out crispy. Don’t forget to shut off the oven 👍🏼

who tf is eating potatoes coated in sugar? thats a hard candy shell on that potato, not crispy skin. or its shellac, which isn't any better.

my folks had a cast iron Dutch oven with resin in it. On camping trips, dad would place it on the gas stove to heat up until the resin was boiling, then carefully drop potatoes in. After a while, he removed them and set them aside until the resin shell hardened. Those were the tastiest baked potatoes I've ever had. That looks like how this one was cooked.

The key to crispy skin potatoes: dip potatoes in heavenly salted water (I use 1/2 cup salt to 1 cup warm water), poke many holes in potatoes, bake at 500 degrees until done (for large potatoes this is 45 minutes), brush potatoes with melted butter, bake extra 10 minutes, for very extra crispy baked potatoes.
