After baking the potato, they mixed w butter etc then wrapped in a very thin thin dough put egg wash on it, then baked it 🥰 thank me by hitting that like button 🥰

Any story about baking potatoes with turpentine is folklore or a misunderstanding. Real Southern pros get that perfect crisp using fat, like bacon grease, cornmeal, salt, heat, and time, not chemicals.
I don't like the skin of the potato, but if you cook the like that, I'll be running.
