This was in Hartford, Michigan, pop. 2496 my hometown of 40 yrs and located in Van Buren County (SW Michigan, closer to Chicago than to Detroit). I tried to answer all the questions and clarify the misinformation on here, but I typed it up twice to have it disappear before I hit post. 😠 He was a middle schooler who was polling peers that day on which store they’d rob if they were going to rob one after school? They didn’t take his words as a sign/threat and didn’t report it, assuming he’s talking bs. Much clearer audio/video is out there w/interviews. Cashier honestly thought he was joking, he’s so young (11?). Store is on Main St.and it’s busy after school. Crossing guards, busses, parents and patrolling police presence, etc. he’s caught walking only mins later. The PD is across the street one block down from the store, she can see it from the register. Poor planning even for an 11 yr old. She does not use his name. I’ll post more later when time allows.
