52 years old. 50 states., 13 original colonies. I had to learned a song as a kid where i had to sing every single states name in that song in alphabetical order. The song goes: "50 nifty United States from 13 original colonies. 50 nifty stars in the flag that flies so beautiful in the breeze. Each individual state contributes a quality that is great. Each individual state deserves a bow, let's salute them now. (etc,etc)." I have never forgotten it. If you know, you know.😆

we were taught that there were 50 states. in music class they taught a song called fifty nifty United States, and it was a couple lines and then all 50 states sang in alphabetical order. starting with Alabama and ending with Wyoming. I believe this was in the 4th grade. that would have been like 1982
it's not a Mandela. It's just some people in the past forgetting that when they learned 50 states in school that Hawaii and Alaska were already included and accounted for. so maybe 2 out of 10 people you ask would mess up and add two more States trying to account for the last two.
