It's supposed to be hand tight then 1/4 a turn with an oil wrench.
I'm sorry I can't help it I'm a plumber. I need to put a little bit more torque on it. and yes I pay the price because I can't remove the filter every time I change my oil. I never learn.
FILTER ???? .... You don't need no stinkin' filter !!!! Just put a little Scotch tape and some bubblegum on it & you're ready for some Interstate drivin' baby !!!!
Depends on an individuals Hand Tight tightness then a quarter turn with a wrench.. My hand tight and a quarter turn wrench method is too tight..A weak person's hand tight then quarter turn wrench would probably be fine.
how do you tighten more that hand tight?
I always do hand tight. Never had an issue and always need a wrench to remove it. Folks need to put a little more into their hand tight.
No thanks needed my guy I do it for the love of the game
Exactly? Too many kids thinking they are Hercules and over tightening them?? 👍🏼👍🏼
👍
rubber swells under a heat condition. make contact and then a quarter turn and you won't be mad next time
hand tight is fine. like the most you can on your hands. shouldn't come off period. but if it comes off without you putting strength into it. then yes it's a problem
Don’t right for once!
Amen brother
I crank mine down so I can laugh at the guy trying to take it off...lol
ok, ur claimin sumfin' WiTOUT sayNwhy and NO1gotta beaMechanic2undastand soSPLAIN Lucy!!!
I tighten with wrench half turn after hand tight for 40 years
turned them ¾ of a turn by hand after first resistance for 30 years and never had a problem
me not doing every single oil change with loctite and oil filter socket on an impact...........
I mean, as a man that works on his own things, I can relate to his frustation
put oil on the rubber gasket before hand tightening too
I got a 2017 f350 powerstroke i tried the hand tight an it was hanging by 1 thread when I pulled into my driveway last year now I gotta hand tighten then add a ½ turn
🤣 TRUTH!
bro I just went to change my oil filter and its not coming off and the oil drain bold its stripped and I have not even touched it my "mechanic" is just some 20 year old kid like I can do all this by my self and im 19
💯
the loud mouth is so wrong
Just to further explain this, it does only need to be hand tight. It will actually tighten itself more with suction from doing it's job filtering the oil that flows through it.
you were able to take it off by hand because the last guy left it loose.
Sup
yup
im gonna say, yes. It tightens up over time. for you that dont know. Change yo oil at the very least, every 5k miles and filter
as it should b
fukin factz
lol mine would definitely be tool tight. life be lifing
I only use the filter tightener on diesels and fuel injected quads
I hand tighten my filter and still have to fight to take it off every time
vibration will more often cause it to "unwind itself"
Yes
it's you go till it's snug NOT TIGHT SNUG the 1/4 turn
I can feel the anger in this guy's voice
you're the tool
100% correct
100% dude.
amen
if its not welded shut... you don't hate the next guy 😂😂😂
I Approve this vid.👍Yeah good stuff Budd.
they deserve atleast a handy
i weld mine on
