Praying Mantises are truly an awesome intelligent species. Truly remarkable. Too remarkable to just be born for some unremarkable lizard's lunch.
Just how many is too many?
I used to gather them and hatch them in a jar. After hatching, I scattered them on the foliage in my planters. They eat all the insects that cause damage to the plants.
I wish the video wasn't going fast. I'd like to see it at regular speed. However it's a cool video👍

About 30 years ago I found an odd-looking cocoon on a tree in my backyard and put it in a jar. About a month of so later, there were hundreds of baby praying mantises in that jar. I released them into my little garden.
