In July 2022, a woman named Samantha Peck called 911 to report that Illingworth was a drunk driver. Peck claimed Illingworth had a drink with her and a child in the car while at a Safeway grocery store. Woodland Park Police investigated and determined that Peck's report was false. Illingworth said that the report was politically motivated and tied to a recall effort against her husband, David Illingworth, who was on the Woodland Park School Board. Peck was among a group of people working to recall David Illingworth. Following the false report, Samantha Peck was arrested and charged with false reporting.

I've watched a lot of videos where police do badly and some good. Honestly, this one was awesome. Didn't make her do SFST's, didn't give her any crap, and was very respectful. 100% excellent interaction. Kudos to that police officer. Keep up the good work, and stay safe!

Did you see how she got that whole situation under control by just giving her identification when the police officer asked for it!? It makes more sense just give them your ID and let them tell you what’s going on much easier. Yeah, I’m pretty sure🤨 that call didn’t face shit! A little bit of light talk and maybe a slap on the wrist and I’ll be back at it again. It’s a gross waste of public resources. False calls to 911. Supposed to be a felony, but they only charge you if they can prove the abuse the services.

My daughters ex boyfriends mom was pulling stuff like this. Calling the sulclde hotline. She told the police my daughter was home alone and going to hurt herself. So they show up at my house the day after Thanksgiving, several units, and we're out of state on vacation. We were at a movie And my phone was turned down but my watch started buzzing because my neighbors were texting that that police were breaking into my house. I had to call the police, fine out what's going on, and tell them that she's fine, and sitting right next to me in the theater. Stupid people wasting police time!

I support our men and women in Blue. If I saw one in trouble I’d help in a heartbeat. However, there might be a possibility that the police never rec’d that tip call at all. They needed probable cause to search her vehicle and they probable did just that. But on the other hand, it could be on the up and up….

Woodland park woman acquitted of all charges tied to calling police on school board member’s wife July 16, 2023 During the school board recall effort last August, one of the recall organizers, Samantha Peck, was gathering petition signatures in the Safeway parking lot when she called 911 over concerns about a possible drunk person about to leave the store. That person was board member David Illingworth’s wife, and when police arrived, they did not detect any signs of alcohol or other concerns with that woman. After investigating further, Peck was arrested and charged with two counts of attempting to influence a public servant and filing a false police report with the Woodland Park Police Department. Peck finally had her day in court last week, where a jury quickly found her not guilty on all three counts.
