Columbus, Ohio - Columbus police released body camera footage and two 911 calls in fatal shooting of16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant that happened on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Police say they were called to the scene around 4:30 p.m. on a report of someone attempting to stab others at a home. Oka so im seeing a lot of ppl saying she was stabbing the other girl. Oka at wat point did he rlly needed to shoot her that many times? She stabbed the girl and backed off at that point the officer should have de-escalated the situation. When the 16 year old got bck he should have called for EMT and told her to drop the knife. I AM NOT JUSTIFYING THE 16 year old AT ALL WEONG IS WRONG! Yes she could have killed the other girl but nobody should have been killed in this situation if the officer knew how to calm the situation down. NOT BLAMING THE OFFICER. But they are trained for situations like this one. R.I. P to the little girl. Parents need to teach their kids to do better violence don’t solve anything.

Rather justified or not I feel for that father. That’s so sad and violent that father didn’t know what to do in that situation. We are all blessed that didn’t have to lose our daughters this day and that we can learn from these situations. I hope that dad til this day is stronger then he was before and that he has healed or is healing from this situation.
