Don't say it too loud because then they are raised the cost of getting the trade when it's a whole hell of a lot less than going to a four-year college. I just told my nephew this Don't just get one trade get three!!

Robots will still need programmers and engineers. Its the robots that are doing the manual labor jobs. I own a trucking company and robots are replacing forklift operators. The robots load our trucks at some locations but they still have folks in the warehouses to program them. Robots are not taking college-level jobs but the labor jobs. I seen this myself about 7 years ago.

HAVE MOST PEOPLE STILL NOT LEARNED TO NOT TAKE WHAT SOMEONE SAYS AS FACT AT FACE VALUE JUST BECAUSE ITS SOURCE IS A FAMILIAR FACE/NAME? Umar is basically saying that robots are not created to operate in "trade" fields of expertise so promote your children to pick up a trade and forget college. Forgive me if I'm wrong(I say that for the sake of knowing I'm not God), but there are young men & women in college creating problem solving robots that can think as well as complete an objective without human assistance. With that in mind, there lies a robots ability which is basically computer programs with mechanical capabilities. At this point in society because robots/robotics are created for assistance most jobs are not in jeopardy, but believing that a trade is the area to focus on when considering a career and financial stability its literally only a matter of time. we need to listen carefully before we comment because what he is saying is major in a profession that can only be done with human hands carpenter, electrician, painter, Plummer these were the skills that our culture did back in the days and was able to build and purchase land and property and didn't had a big college debt when they got through if you want to be a Doctor, Lawyer, Dentist then you will have to go to college some surgery now don't necessarily need a doctor but they have them in the room to make sure everything goes good so he do have a valid point because trade school do not leave you in big debt verses college.

that is partially true. Even "trades" are in danger with 3D Printers. Anything you can build or repair can actually be done by robots. Mechanics, Carpentry, etc, are all in danger as well.

black people...😑 we still need to educate ourselves to the highest level possible! if an individual person wants to go to college, who are you to say they should not. furthermore, many skills are obtained without knowledge of the business. some people are struggling with simple grammar. even common courtesy is a learned behavior. I'm black, thankful, I have a skill, I've learned to be kind, and I would never tell another young black person not to get a college education. do all that you can, while you can, as you can! let tomorrow take care of tomorrow!

We don't go to college just for earning money. We go to college to obtain an education. Because the mind is a terrible thing to waste. Send your children to college to be educated because the mind of an uneducated person is destructive to society. Education for education sake is invaluable. That does not take anything away from the importance of having or attending a trade school. They are both important. you can have both.

he is absolutely correct no doubt about it I'm 59 years old and I've been in the trade since I was 18 I made a great living for my family and it's still rough but at least they're okay I will be replaced when I am dead but I don't have to worry about a machine taking my job it could never do what I do at least not now and it'll be years before so I say the same thing find a trade

I was a painter for 40 years. A humble trade for sure. I could paint anything from a 20-story building to gold leafing a cross on the highest of steeples. I painted water towers as high as a small mountain. Bridges over rivers. I painted them all. It put food on my table, a roof over my head, and clothes on my family. That suited me just fine. For years, my oldest thought I was a dumb because I was always in my paint clothes, until one day, when he was 17 and I got him his first job with me. His respect for me changed during that period. There is nothing wrong with a man who can work with his hands.

So true. They are trying to make it hard for black people have anything or get ahead.A robot cannot build or work on anything that you can do by human hands. If the system ever shuts down how can a robot perform it's duty?🤔

those are straight facts I argue with my cousin she want to send her daughter to college and I told her to do what and she's not doing nothing that's involving her hands what did she want to call for it to learn a whole bunch of stuff that whatever job she gets is not going to have nothing to do with her degree I have so many relatives that have jobs and the degrees they have have nothing to do with this job today with the college to do something completely different it is so funny to me

For the Black community, the movement represents both a call for justice and a declaration of dignity. It highlights generations of struggle, resilience, and resistance while also celebrating Black culture, strength, and identity.Black Lives Matter is a movement fighting against systemic racism.
