That’s EXACTLY what happened to me at the same age … he had a limo wearing a suit .. even at that age I realized it was a scam and I ran like crazy to my house around the corner . If I had gotten in his limo (he held bags of candy) they would have never found my body (1/2 block from Rock River)… even at that age I knew it was bad

My sister was kidnapped when she was 16. She was ok physically but emotionally ruined her for the rest of her life. She died of alcoholism. 😢😭💔
Although what prevented the 2nd man from being the "nice guy" backup for the first guy?
Now call the police. Get the guy's license plate number and give a description of him so they can make a possible suspect file for the child who isn't lucky enough to have a hero standing by
That was very nice of the young man that rescued the little boy! Yet a child should be thought to scream “ danger, stranger” at the top of his lungs! If that wonderful young man had not intervened, heaven knows what would have happened to the child. I pray that the authorities found the pervert!!
What bothers me is that the kid was ready to go along with the perp. Even after parents try so hard to teach their kids to avoid strangers.
Parents should always have a secret word that the child can ask what it is whether outside or in school. Outside school they need to be taught to run for help when the person doesn’t know the secret word. Go to a store, home or anywhere that would be safe.

I was about 12 when I was riding my bike on our country road. A car kept going by, on the third time I knew something was wrong. I was about mile from home. That bike flew. I don't remember doing that again. It puts a fear in you that can't be matched.

Problem is the second man had good intentions but is actually a STRANGER too! So it’s not really teaching the child what to really do. Like call a parent or a cop to escort him home safely

I was 13 or 14 ( 1970’s) out doing a walk, car pulled up and pinned me against a fence. I got away ran 1/2 mile behind peoples houses but he still followed me. I had to run past my home on the other side of street. Ran into a mom and pop grocery store, lady working let me hide in the back room till the guy was gone. Scared me and never went for walks down that road again .

I know this particular scenario didn't happen. However, it's a good reminder for all of us that we need to watch out for ourselves and others.
although we tell our kids to not talk to strangers, we must teach them how to reach out to a stranger if they need help!! WE MUST TEACH THEM HOW TO USE THEIR OWN SENSES TO BE ABLE TO JUDGE WHO CAN HELP THEM IF THEY NEED IT

idk maybe it's staged, but I remember when I was at a park with my daughter and she found a kid who had gotten separated from his mom and dad and we tried to help him by looking for his parents. we eventually found them and they were white with panic. they were so grateful that someone had helped. it's everyone's responsibility to look out for kids in your community. the dad damn near gave me a hug we was so happy.

Met a little girl at a dog show and we were chatting which is pretty normal for exhibitors to talk to junior showmanship kids. But then this little one, probably 7 or 8 years old starts to tell me her home address. I stopped her and told her that she needs to have her parents permission to give out her address, and to be careful because bad people might be listening in. I told her I wanted her to always be safe. Then we started talking about dogs again. 😊
We need more men like this to stop the creepers away from the children
