I think it's a lot closer than that... their mom also had 2 men dressed like women in disguise at her funeral, and she received a birthday letter every year before she died after they escaped... the ocean was dragged, and nothing was found, but a raft on the shore of Easter island

My fat ass could swim that distance. That being said, it's more than the swim. The sharks, freezing cold water, and guards patrolling would be my biggest concern, but with time, it could be done.
