This RULE has been in place for forever. Stop it with all of don’t knows and let the kids play. Fast pitch softball even though at this age it’s not actually coming in fast at all, it’s the rule in both softball and baseball. If you watch these two sports on television, not player ever steps on the mound in baseball and in softball the infielders never step on the rubber between innings. Everyone knows the rules and wouldn’t dare piss the coach off by doing so. Now these kids are young and may not have known and understood that. I can guarantee you that they do know now. In softball, the starter can reenter, but not in baseball. Coaches should know this and preach in practice never step on rubber and pitch a ball.
